Workshop "Waves in correlated disorder"

Wave propagation in disordered media has been an active field of research for decades, stimulated by fundamental issues in mesoscopic physics and by imaging applications. The purpose of the workshop is to discuss the impact of correlations in the disorder on wave emission and propagation, based on state-of-the-art theoretical approaches and experiments. To reach this goal, we will bring together leading mathematicians, theoretical physicists and experimentalists working on different aspects of waves in correlated disordered
media. Issues to be discussed include (not restrictive) short-range order, soft-matter systems, atomic systems, near-field interactions, polarization correlations, optical forces in disordered media, homogenization theory, transport
theory, random lasers.

The workshop will take place at the Institut Henri Poincaré (Paris), from November 30, 10:30 to December 2, 16:00, 2011.
Registration is free but mandatory. It includes access to the workshop, coffee breaks, lunches and a welcome cocktail on November 30.
